What you can do: Get Involved

Sign Our Petition: https://chng.it/kpYP5cFnj6
If you're concerned, frustrated or angry with these developments, make your voice heard!  Get involved! There are so many ways to get your thoughts out there!

1) Submit your comments in public feedback to the Township online between October 5 & 26
The Township has opened a public comment forum on the Township website. You can submit your feedback for each proposal here: PUBLIC COMMENT ONLINE

NOTE:  This option requires comments on each map individually and provides zero context on the level of disruption each plan creates, nor does it provide a map of the current district layouts to allow you to compare current to proposed districts.  If you provide comment via this route and if the amount of disruption is a consideration for you, please have the disruption table provided under the "Disruption" tab handy as you submit your feedback.  Keep in mind that Options 1, 2, 4, and 5 will disrupt thousands of residents and Option 3 will disrupt a few hundred.  All 5 proposals distribute the population to desired targets, but the amount of disruption varies significantly.

Alternatively, you could submit your consolidated feedback via email to
info@upperprovidence.org OR you can email Township officials individually:

  • Marsha A. Peterson, 1st District - Email Marsha Peterson
  • Kevin Else, 2nd District - Email Kevin Else
  • Christen J. Rexing, 3rd District - Email Christen Rexing
  • Elgin Akarsoy, 4th District - Email Elgin Akarsoy
  • Thomas McFadden, 5th District - Email Thomas McFadden
  • Don Vymazal, Township Manager - Email Don Vymazal

2) Attend Council Meetings and the Redistricting Public Comment Session
The next Township Council meeting is on Thursday, October 27th at 7:30pm.  It is not known if redistricting will be on the agenda, but even if it is not, you can still sign up for public comment at the outset of the meeting to express your opinions. Council is also hosting a special redistricting meeting on November 2 at 7pm at the Township building.  Attend these meetings to make your voice heard!

3) Share this information with your neighbors! This is a grassroots effort, and we need as many people as possible to get involved and let Council know how they feel about this process and resulting plans!
